Greetings from TRCC!  We are having a great 2025 so far with, around 117 students enrolled in our after-school program.  Our mission is to help students develop physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually in a safe and loving Christian environment.  Because District 5 schools had an e-learning day on Valentine’s Day, TRCC was open all day to help students complete their assignments and provide childcare for our parents and families.  The kids also enjoyed field trips to Top Golf and the Pavilion Bounce Houses.  Because it was Valentine’s Day, we opened the day with a special chapel service on LOVE! 

We looked at the messages on a box of candy Conversation hearts to remind us that the messages the world gives us about love are sometimes useless and junk.  Conversation heart candy has truly declined over the years.  There was no “Be Mine” or “You’re Cute”.  Instead the messages included things like “Goalz”, “Goat”, and “TTYL”.  Some of the candy hearts did not even have a message or only part of the message was stamped onto the edge…quality control in the production process was compromised.

There is no compromise, though, in our best example of love from God, through His son, Jesus.  We talked about agape love, the amazing way God loves us and the best way to love others.  The kids were challenged to memorize 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 by the end of the day for a special prize. 

How are you loving others?  Are you sharing the love the world gives or are you loving others the way God loves us?  Is your love patient?  Is it kind?  Does it edify others or is it self-seeking?  Is your love full of pride and boasting or is it humble? Remember, true love, the way God intended it, always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails!
